“Wellbeing is fundamental to everything we do,” explained Adele Watkins, MD of AromaWorks London, “and our expanded range further enhances this ethos. The essential oils we have used within our new product range really do make a positive difference when combined with the large-scale investment in our BioActive natural formulations. We believe the benefit of applying beauty products directly to the skin can be further enhanced when used alongside complimentary aromatherapy oils – this is why we started the business within home fragrance. Adding natural BioActive aromatherapy skincare for both men and women, is the next obvious progression in our evolution.”

]]>The brainchild of mother-and-daughter team Cecilia Rathe and Claire Huntley, Mary Elizabeth is a new natural skincare brand which aims to be affordable yet luxurious.
The brand – the ethos of which is to be natural, effective, stylish and sustainable – uses pure natural plant oils, organic essential oils and other ethically-sourced ingredients, and the products have been designed to soothe and protect the skin.
Cecilia, a qualified aromatherapist, undertook research to find natural and effective ingredients that could help her skin recover following a battle with skin cancer in 2010. “Although the treatment was successful,” explains Cecilia, “my skin was left in a poor condition, and I was reluctant to use hydrocortisone cream to help it as suggested. Knowing the many skincare benefits of natural plant oils and essential oils I decided to make a cream myself using natural ingredients, and it soothed my skin within days! After nearly two years of extensive research, development and testing our first products were ready to launch.”
The initial products to be offered are: Frankincense and Rose Moisturiser to boost and brighten the complexion, with ingredients including meadowfoam oil, thistle oil, frankincense and rose otto damask essential oil; Camellia and Geranium Gentle Face Scrub, containing cupacu grains, camellia oil, rose geranium oil and lavender essential oil; Juniper and Jojoba Hand Cream for soft, supple hands; and Spearmint and Tea Tree Nurture Balm – an all purpose balm for lips, hands, nails feet and dry skin, this is packed with natural oils including meadowfoam, tea tree, hemp, avocado, apricot and shea butter to boost moisture, soothe and protect.
“We have plans to increase our skincare and nurture ranges in 2015, and to introduce the first products in our Mum and Baby range. We also want to extend our distribution and availability,” adds Cecilia.

]]>The company advocates a three-step process of cleansing, nourishing and protecting with products incorporating organic superfruits to maintain an uncomplicated, effective regime to boost confidence and self-esteem.
Founder Catkin Wemyss-Bodmer believes if you are confident in your skin, you shine: “In this age of the ‘selfie,’ if you work on building confidence from the inside, there will be less of a need to seek constant reaffirmation from peers and social contacts.”
The range comprises eight products for ‘her’ and four for ‘him’, featuring the innovative Advanced Phytoscience System (APS) which includes pure aloe vera, healing allantoin and rich ‘super antioxidants’ extracted from organic Australian wild-harvested plums kakadu, burdekin and Illawarra.
Products include Remove, Cleanse, Essential Serum, Nourish Serum, Foaming Cleanser, Shave and Hair & Body Wash.
The BRYT philosophy looks at skincare in a holistic way – taking the view that just as you clean your teeth every day, you cleanse your face, feed your skin and protect it from daily life. “Skin needs to be fed and hydrated, just like our bodies,” explains Wemyss-Bodmer.

]]>“I am proud to be launching the new Aqua Oleum,” said Julia Lawless who co-founded the company in 1978. “With the rebrand it was important to translate the elegant and authentic feel of the business yet maintain the natural ethos that the brand represents with the repackaging. It is modern and fresh yet manages to retain a classical feel.”
Keeping it in the family, the rebranding was designed by Lawless’ daughter Natasha, and aims to emphasize the link between the products and plants and nature.
Along with the new look, Aqua Oleum has expanded its range to offer a new six-strong line of blended massage oils – After Dark Sensual Body Oil; Purity, a detoxing oil; exotic and uplifting Oriental Spice; Tranquility to relax body and mind; Vitality to tone up muscle pre-workout; and Aches & Pains offering remedial relief.
A range of hand-made Flower Waters has also been produced, which can be used as facial toners and come in a variety of sizes. The products mix essential oils with spring water and come in Chamomile, Rose Water, Lavender and Orange Blossom varieties.
The company has also launched a new website and redesigned all its marketing materials.

]]>Commissioned by 001, the artists’ work is a response to key elements of the new range and highlights the link between beauty, art and culture as one of a state of wellbeing and equilibrium.
The range fuses modern biochemistry and traditional apothecary principles to help restore skin balance, counteract environmental imbalance generated by free radicals and delay the aging process at a cellular level.
Ooi says: “Our busy, city dwelling lifestyles often create internal imbalances that lead to unsatisfactory skin conditions – 001 helps soothe imperfections and rejuvenate with its refined, potent ingredients.
The products, which are formulated and hand-poured using innovative hybrid methods at the 001 equiHybrid Lab, include Pure Lavender Hydrolat Toner, Active Marine Power Concentrate, GLA and Anti-Oxidant Rich Cream and Supreme Equilibrium Mask.
“We invite experimentation with different applications – tapping, massaging or pressing – to stimulate blood flow and enhance absorption – making the products work harder for you,” Ooi adds.
